Stephen King working on new horror novel

April 14th, 2012 by Jay Comments

According to a Sunday Times profile by Neil Gaiman, King is working on a novel called Joyland, which sounds sounds like it’ll be a return to the pure horror genre as the undisputed master of horror adds another fear to the ever growing list: “amusement park serial killers.”

Always a bit morbid, King has also thought about what would happen to Joyland in the event of his death: “If I got hit by a taxi cab, like Margaret Mitchell… Joyland wouldn’t be done but [my son] Joe could finish it, in a breeze. His style is almost indistinguishable from mine. His ideas are better than mine. Being around Joe is like being next to a Catherine Wheel throwing off sparks, all these ideas.”

Dr. Sleep, the sequel to The Shining, is the next book of King’s to be hitting shelves sometime in 2013.

Since getting married to the wonderful and patient woman of his dreams, and becoming a father (of two young boys), he has fallen into the category of 'lapsed nerd' as he is a former RPer, Live Role-Player, and comic book junkie. Science fiction and fantasy books are the staple of his shelves - both in terms of books and movies ... however, he's never seen Star Wars (any of them) but please don't hold that against him! He is currently trying to find a medical cure for the thing called sleep, as it is interferring with the thing he calls life. If you want to know more about him go to
