Spider-Men #3
Written by: Brian Michael Bendis
Art by: Sara Pichelli
Published by: Marvel Comics
SYNOPSIS: This issue picks up with Amazing Spider Man stuck in the Ultimates Universe where he’s teamed up with Ultimate Spider Man. They’re squaring off against an avatar Mysterio is using against our heroes. After beating the avatar and a brief cameo from the Ultimates, Amazing Spider Man takes off to look into the fate of Ultimate Peter Parker, whom we all know is no longer with us.
The story here was quickly paced to move us beyond the scuffle and into the good stuff, ASM discovering the death of his Ultimate counterpart. The cliff hanger at the end was a bit emotional and has me totally wanting to pick up the next issue.
Pichelli’s art is great here and is really brought to life by Justin Ponsor’s coloring, especially in the ending cliff hanger since that part relies solely on the art to convey the emotions. This series has been a great read so far.
