television news banner copyGordon and Bullock2We’re only weeks away from the debut of the third season of Gotham, and if the end of season 02 was any indication, things are about to get weird.

This is confirmed by the reveal poster and trailer for Gotham season 03, which is now being subtitled “Mad City”. Not unlike how season 02 was “Rise of the Villains” and “Wrath of the Villains”.

Characters old and new are on display in the trailer, and things aren’t looking good for Gordon and his allies.

Showrunner Bruno Heller even talked about why he thought Gotham works in a way others don’t, he specifically wanted Gordon because he’s not a superhero, just a guy trying to do good in the world:

“TV is about real people and faces and not so much about magic and the supernatural things.”

Though he noted Gotham is tricky to make at times, “it has to be both a crime procedural and a mythic, epic, grand comic book saga. It’s a tricky combination because you have to keep it real and unreal at the same time.”

Gotham Season 03 comes to Fox on Monday, September 19, 2016.
