Nightwing comes to Smallville!

June 15th, 2012 by Jay Comments

As announced earlier this week, Batman will finally find his way to Metropolis in DC Comics’ series Smallville Season 11, the comic continuation of the TV show.  He won’t be coming alone. Series writer Bryan Q. Miller (who also wrote for the TV version) tells TV Guide Magazine that Batman’s partner is none other than Nightwing.

In a twist, the character behind the mask is Stephanie Brown, the former Robin and Batgirl!

As to why he picked Stephanie for the sidekick slot, Miller says, “Bruce can be somewhat of an angry man. Stephanie’s personality is so can-do and unsinkable and bright, so it’s very much on purpose on Bruce’s part that he has a good cop going out on patrol with him every night.”

Miller previous wrote Stephanie as the star of the pre-New 52 Batgirl series. He promised that the comic would explain why she has taken up the mantle of Nightwing rather than Robin or Batgirl.

Jay says that he is a writer, martial artist, sketcher, and dreamer but mostly just a husband and father. Since getting married to the wonderful and patient woman of his dreams, and becoming a father (of two young boys), he has fallen into the category of 'lapsed nerd' as he is a former RPer, Live Role-Player, and comic book junkie. Science fiction and fantasy books are the staple of his shelves - both in terms of books and movies ... however, he's never seen Star Wars (any of them) but please don't hold that against him! He is currently trying to find a medical cure for the thing called sleep, as it is interferring with the thing he calls life. If you want to know more about him go to
