Spider-man getting a costume change? Looks like it… UPDATED

February 4th, 2012 by Marc 1 Comment

While the whole world seems occupied with Marvel’s The Avengers at the minute with Joss Whedon’s movie due in a couple of months, it’s hard to remember that Marvel’s other big character Spider-man has his own movie coming in July. And in perhaps a move aimed at getting people talking about him in the build-up to Marc Webb’s movie, Marvel are giving everyone’s favourite web-head a new suit…

In a preview for the upcoming Spider-Man epic “Ends Of The Earth,” Marvel gabe teasing glimpses of Spidey’s new suit… and while it maintains the primar colours of his regular suit, it seems very different indeed. Now, to us it feels a little like of of the action figure variants Spidey tends to get, like scuba-Spider-man or sace battle Spider-man, but the glaves, boots and, is that a utility belt?! could be a cool new look…

Is the change permanent? Well, Marvel are keeping pretty quiet on that front, but given DC’s reboot we wouldn’t rule it out…

The new suit will debut in the Amazing Spider-Man #682 on March 21. It will mark the first issue of a six-part arc called “Ends Of The Earth”. The series is written by Dan Slott with art by Stefano Caselli and will see Spidey battle Doc Ock and The Sinister Six… ok, we’re excited. We admit it….

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
