Friend of FTN and film-maker Neville Steenson has taken a brief time out from film to turn his hand to a gruesome graphic novel called Holding Cell 284

And here is the FTN exclusive look at artwork from Holding Cell 284.

The Novel is a survival horror that takes place in a Medium Security Prison which has been overrun with infected guards and inmates alike. The story revolves around a small band of survivors who must battle to find their way from the Hell that has become Sonta Prison.

The project which initially started out as a Film Script and was nominated for best original screenplay at the New York City Horror Film Festival in 2008. When approached by a Producer who read the script Neville was told that the project would make a great Graphic Novel.

Neville got to work and found a very talented and experienced Art Director Shelley Furgason who is based in the USA and then closely followed by the Illustrator Dustin Sullivan also US based rounded off the team.

“With Shelley and Dustin onboard they have taken the project in a new and very exciting direction and one I never would have conceived for Holding Cell. We are working very hard on the project to have it ready for a 2013 release” stated Neville.

So what can readers expect?

“Blood and gore, and lots off it along with some new kick ass characters and a plot that is a little more deeper than a lot of outbreak horrors. But mostly being based on a Screenplay to start with it has a very cinematic feel and scope” says the smiling writer from Armagh.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
