FTN Blog 2012 EP2

Hello one and all. I hope everyone is well and you have been enjoying our new website.

I have to say that everyone at FTN is pretty much addicted to posting stories on a daily basis at the moment, especially Marc who is as giddy as I’ve ever seen him…..poor fella!

As for me, well I’m back in the groove for 2012 as SyFy in the UK has started airing Smallville again after the festive break. I’ve just started season 7 and after a poor first episode we’re starting to get back on track.

Another little thing that I probably shouldn’t confess but I will, and in fact we’re gonna talk about it on the radio show this week, is that I’ve started reading comic books for the first time. Yes, I know, I’m not a real nerd. But I am trying.

So what have I been reading? Well, it’s been all Batman so far. I’ve tried in this order: Batman Year One, Long Halloween, Dark Victory, The Dark Knight Returns and The Dark Knight Strikes Again.

I loved the first four. Absolutely brilliant. But I loathed Strikes Again especially the artwork. Definitely not my style. But I have to say, why have I taken so long to read this stuff? Some of it is amazing.

I’ve also got through DCs The New Frontier which I loved. Especially the retro story and artwork. Top stuff. I’m not sure what to try next. Any thoughts?

Nothing else to report except to say get visiting our website and say hello. Remember it’s for all of you!

So until next week.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
