Happy New Year to everyone. Yes, it’s 2012 and, according to George Lucas, the end of the world is definitely coming.

Before that, however, Following the Nerd is going to rock your socks off with our fantastic new website.

Yes, at last, it is here and huge shout out to the man who made it happen – Gareth Watson. We salute you sir!

The site has been ready for a while now but we have been pumping it full of stories so that when we went live you would have plenty of stories to enjoy.

We’ve got the latest gossip on movies, comics, the paranormal, role playing, toys/collectables and video games as well as links to our weekly radio show, podcasts, facebook page and twitter feed.

Ofcourse, without you all following us then none of this would be possible so please let us know if there is anything we can do to enhance your enjoyment of the site.

In the meantime, please get stuck into it, savour all our juicy stories and tell us if there are any titbits we have missed.

It’s been a year since FTN first arrived into the world so what better way to celebrate our first birthday than launching this terrific new social experience for people to enjoy.

We hope you enjoy it.

Speak soon.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
