Kiefer Sutherland has said that the planned 24 movie would be a “continuation” of the series if it goes ahead.
Speaking at the TCA Winter Press Tour, Sutherland revealed that the film will pick up six months after the Fox drama’s final episode
“The status on the movie is that, hopefully, we will be shooting the end of April, beginning of May,” he confirmed. “The script that we’ve got right now… I’m very, very excited about.”
The actor added: “I see it as… relatively a direct continuation. It’s within six months from the end of the last episode. We’ll see where it goes from there.”
Executive producer Brian Grazer tweeted in April 2011 that the film is planned for a 2012 release.
Die Hard 4 screenwriter Mark Bomback was reported to be working on a new script draft for the project in December.
