Asteroids find their target

November 16th, 2012 by bash Comments

I suppose if they make a movie based on the board game Battleships then any thing is possible… and so it is that a writer has been brought on board for a movie adaptation of the popular 1970s video game Asteroids.

Variety are reporting that Universal Pictures has signed up Jez Butterworth, who wrote the screenplay for Doug Liman’s Fair Game, The Last Legion, as well as directed Nicole Kidman’s Birthday Girl. More recently, Butterworth has written a James Brown biopic for The Help director Tate Taylor.

Produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the man behind three Transformers movies, Asteroids joins a spate of other recent news about video game projects including Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell.

Hi all. I'm Bash and love anything and everything to do with Star Wars. Although I've watched hundreds of movies, read dozens of books and played numerous computer games from other genres and franchises since, nothing has come close to seeing George Lucas' epic for the very first time. I hope you all like the site and come back often.
