Ok, so anyone who has seen Deadpool – and we reckon that’s most of you at this stage – will feel confident in the knowledge that it’s a good bet we’ll see Cable in the now inevitable sequel (see below).
And while we reported a while back that Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld really wants to see Madmen’s John Hamm in the role it seems that another actor has his eyes on the prize.
Avatar actor Stephen Lang has been showing that he’s working on the guns for the role… could you see him in the part? We have to say, given his appearance here, we can certainly see him with that metal arm… but we love the idea of Hamm in the role too.
What do you guys think?
Let’s lay some CABLE. You know I want it. This is pre-training. Thanks for spreading the word. #Deadpool pic.twitter.com/jI1Y1i0oH0

Meanwhile, we reckon it’s a safe bet we’ll see the sequel… and Cable.
Last year, report Squareeyed,Fifty Shades of Grey ruled the box office over Valentine’s Day weekend. However, this year couldn’t be more different as Deadpool obliterated its record in what was a wildly successful opening weekend form Ryan Reynolds’s Merc With a Mouth.
Deadpool now holds the record for biggest opening day in February. It pulled in an estimated $47.5 million on Friday, crushing Fifty Shades of Grey’s haul of $30.2 million during the same time frame. Deadpool is now estimated to take in $130 million over the course of the weekend, when the figures are announced.
Deadpool is also on track to have the biggest opening for any R-rated movie in history. The projections for its opening weekend predicted $65 million, so it could potentially double expectations. That marketing campaign really worked a treat, in the end.
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humour, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Deadpool has comfortably exceeded expectations and it will be difficult for Fox’s next superhero movie, X-Men: Apocalypse (arriving in May) to beat that. Either way, it has restored some of Fox’s pride after their Fantastic Four reboot flopped after receiving universally negative reviews.
