Batman: Arkham Origins screenshots confirm Joker & Anarky and voice actors for Batman and Joker!

May 21st, 2013 by Edwin Torres Jr Comments

Warner Bros. has released six new screenshots from Batman: Arkham Origins. These images confirm two more characters for the cast: the Joker and Anarky.

Origins is a prequel so we’ll get to see Batman and the Joker facing off for the very first time. Anarky is a more obscure character. He’s a vigilante who uses violent means to further his political goals. In addition to being an adept martial artist, he possesses a range of gadgets to help him in a fight. I’m interested to see how he’ll interact with Batman, a vigilante with a very different code, throughout the course of Origins.

Thus far, WB has focused their attention on talking about other Origins villains like the Black Mask and Deathstroke. This suggests that they’ll play bigger roles in the game. The Joker and more likely Anarky might just be the subject of a handful of missions.

Roger Craig Smith is the voice of young Batman. Smith has been in the business for a long time, voicing characters like Ezio Auditore from Assassin’s Creed and Chris Redfield from Resident Evil.

Troy Baker, the voice of Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, will take on the new voice of The Joker. Baker has also done work in games like Mass Effect 3 and Catherine, and plays Joel in Naughty Dog’s upcoming The Last of Us.

Just yesterday I shared a video of Kevin Conroy saying he’s been working on a game for 9 or 10 months, but today the voice actors were announced by Warner Bros. He’s not in this game, but an upcoming game perhaps Arkham 3, but not Arkham Origins.

What do you think?

The game launches on October 25th for Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. There will be a Deathstroke DLC free with pre-orders.
