Kenneth Branagh is set to play the villain in the next reboot of the Jack Ryan series, Heat Vision is reporting.
The Northern Ireland-born star will also direct the upcoming untitled movie which will see Chris Ryan (Star Trek) in the lead role.
“Branagh is in negotiations to play the movie’s villain, Viktor Stazov, a financial wiz who, with the help of the Russian government, masterminds a plot to devalue American currency and thus destroy the U.S. economy,” Heat Vision said.
Based on the character from the Tom Clancy novels, the new movie will see Ryan as a financial analyst living in Moscow.
Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck have all previously played the character on the big screen.
