Deadline is reporting that Marvel has shortlisted five actresses to read for the part of the lead female character in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Although no name as been confirmed, it is said to be a romantic interest to Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers.

The list of names includes Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four), Imogen Poots (Fright Night) and Alison Brie (The Five-Year Engagement).

The successful actress will join Evans as Rogers and Anthony Mackie, who has been cast in the role of Sam “Falcon” Wilson.

Hi all. I'm Bash, I'm 33, and I became a nerd when I first saw Star Wars as a child. Although I've watched hundreds of movies, read dozens of books and played numerous computer games since, nothing has come close to seeing George Lucas' epic for the very first time. At Following the Nerd, I'm Marc's right hand man and can be heard every Thursday trying to be funny on our radio show. I hope you all like the site and come back often.
