Charlie Higson’s back

September 7th, 2012 by Paddy No Comments

WHEN SFX compares your work to George Romero, you know you’re doing something right. But then this isn’t Charlie Higson’s first rodeo.
The author has received widespread acclaim for his work on The Fast Show,Shooting Stars and in the literary world for his Young Bond novels and not to mention The Enemy Series.
In fact it’s the fourth instalment of that saga that has the spotlight well and truly positioned on one of Britain’s best loved novelists for the young adult market.
The fourth book in the series, The Sacrifice is released on September 20, and if you’re anything like those at Nerd HQ then you will be counting the days.
The Sacrifice is the latest book in the series that centres on a virus that has destroyed everyone over the age of 14.
No adult has escaped the sickness in these stories set in a post-apocalyptic London.
If you thought young adult fiction couldn’t terrify, then think again. This is as gripping as it gets.

They don't call Paddy a prince among men for nothing. In fact, they don't call him a prince among men at all. But when's he not making terrible puns, he's busy trying to decide how's he going to watch every episode of Star Trek, Babylon 5, Doctor Who and Battlestar Galactica in chronological order without driving his wife to divorce court. He's also got a keen interest in sci-fi literature and has been working on his Orwellian masterpiece for the best part of the last two years and is ready to begin a first draft any month now.
