Could Warners be considering using multiple Batmen for films?!

September 16th, 2012 by Christopher Williams 1 Comment

So far this is just a rumor, but I will file this under “What The Hell Is Wrong With Them?!” According to website Batman On Film, Warners is considering using a different actor for Batman in both of the proposed Batman reboot and Justice League movie. They are also considering a different actor as Superman for the JL movie instead of Henry Cavill.

Yep, that’s the great idea Warners is kicking around. They want to set a different tone for the Batman movie than in the JL movie. Are they f****ing serious!! Apparently a crack pipe is passed around creative meetings at Warner Bros. I guess they don’t understand that one of the reasons why the Avengers movie was so successful was that they introduced all the characters via solo movies before the Avengers. This helped maintain the continuity of the Marvel Movie Universe and made it easy for casual fans and those not familiar with the characters to just slip in and enjoy more of what they already knew.

Sure, everyone knows who Batman and Superman are. They don’t have the drawback of having to find a way to break a character into the mainstream like say a Hawkeye, but come on man! If anything I feel that the casual fans like grandmas and such may find this confusing. They’ll take the grandkids to see Man of Steel and than wonder “Who the heck is this?!” when they take the grandkids to see the JL movie. I use the grandma reference because my grandma loved the new Spiderman and X-Men First Class.

There may be enough confusion to deal with when they go to see the new Batman and wonder what happened to Christian Bale. Continuity, continuity, continuity! I can’t say that word enough here. I’m not saying Warners should duplicate Disney and Marvel’s game plan here, but the proof is in the pudding. Making a cohesive movie universe seems to be the answer. Warners, put down your crack pipes and start thinking clearly.
