DC has decided to delay the latest issue of Batman Inc in response to the massacre that has taken place in Aurora, CO. The book was originally due to hit comic shops on 7/25 and instead will see a release date of 8/22.
All versions of the book will be held until August including the main book, variant, black and white and the digital combo pack. Additionally the digital version will also be delayed.
“The book printed on time. I’m looking at a copy on my desk right now. This isn’t a scheduling excuse, we’re trying to do the right thing,” explained Chris Burnham, Batman Inc. artist.
“It’s not just a Batman comic with guns in it. There’s a specific scene that made DC and the whole Bat-team say ‘Yikes’. Too close for comfort.”
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. have pulled the trailer for “Gangster Squad,” a period drama that featured a scene in which agents spray machine-gun fire into a crowded movie theater from behind the screen.
The studio has also decided to remove the scene from the film, which opens September 7, and is putting reshoot plans into motion.
