Doctor Who and Loki want Star Wars roles

November 19th, 2012 by bash Comments

It seems that Star Wars has a reach that spans the galaxies with the news that former Doctor Who star David Tennant and Thor villain Tom Hiddleston would love a chance to star in a galaxy far, far away.

In a recent interview promoting his new film Nativity 2, Tennant was asked by BBC Radio 1 if he would like a role in the new Star Wars films. He replied by saying “It’d be great” and then went on to talk about the role Star Wars has played in his life and career.

Elsewhere, Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki in the Avengers universe, was asked if he’d like to play around on the set of the new flick.

He said: “Goodness, I hadn’t thought of that. I mean, yeah, sure. I’m a huge fan, especially the first three… so absolutely, yeah. It would depend on the story and the character and things, but maybe people would associate me too closely with Loki. I hope not.

“Kathleen Kennedy is a filmmaker of such extraordinary experience and wisdom, and is one of the best producers I’ve ever, ever worked for. She just knows her way around the medium, and the art form and the industry. So I’d take it very seriously if they asked me.”

So there you have it. While numerous big name directors are distancing themselves from the franchise it seems that some of our favourite nerd actors are up for a part.

What do you guys think? Would Tennant or Hiddleston interest you? As ever let us know your thoughts.

Hi all. I'm Bash and love anything and everything to do with Star Wars. Although I've watched hundreds of movies, read dozens of books and played numerous computer games from other genres and franchises since, nothing has come close to seeing George Lucas' epic for the very first time. I hope you all like the site and come back often.
