Expendables 3 could have greatest cast list since The Longest Day

August 14th, 2012 by Marc Comments

Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood, Nicolas Cage and Wesley Snipes are all being approached for a role in The Expendables 3, producer Avi Lerner has told Total Film.

Although The Expendables 2 doesn’t hit cinema screens until this weekend, Lerner told the magazine that they were also looking at a return for Mickey Rourke.

“We’ve approached Clint Eastwood to be one of the guys,” he said. “We’ve got a character in mind for him. We’re talking to Harrison Ford. Wesley Snipes when he comes back from prison… [W]e’ve got Nicolas Cage to play [one of the characters]…And we’re going to bring Mickey Rourke back, if he won’t be too crazy. I like Mickey. And of course, all the existing stars [will return]”

The new talents would join Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

All of us at FTN think this could be the greatest single line-up in movie history. What do you guys and gals think?

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
