Ever since joining the Twitter scene this year, X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer has used it to reveal new details, cast announcements and first looks at the sequel, including photos of Nicolas Hoult as Beast, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde, James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Halle Berry as Storm, and Patrick Stewart as Professor X . Singer’s most recent tweet is of Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence reprising her role as Mystique in full bodysuit and makeup.
The tweet came with the following note: First look: #JenniferLawrence as a vengeful #Mystique.
“The film will be based on the comic book storyline “Days of Future Past,” which ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s run and introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel’s mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.”
Singer has managed to gather an impressive cast which also includes Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Anna Paquin, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing and Boo Boo Stewart.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to be released in theaters on July 18, 2014.
