First look at Paul Giamatti in a suit of sorts on the set of Amazing Spider-Man 2

May 26th, 2013 by Edwin Torres Jr Comments

Although many images have surfaced from the set of Amazing Spider-Man 2, both official and not, we really don’t know which way they’re going with the Rhino. Well maybe until now.

These recent pics have been revealed by and they show Paul Giamatti is some sort of mock up suit, pre cgi. While nothing is confirmed this looks like it points toward a mechanized suit more like the Ultimate version of the Rhino. This really shouldn’t be much of a surprise as it is the same route they’re taking with Electro. But what of the formula Aleksei (Rhino) was seen holding? Maybe it just makes him stronger? But with Oscorp in the movie who knows, they still might transform him in the end.

I did find this on IMDB:

Right now they are filming across the street from my job on park ave btwn 50th and 54th streets. The scene involves the rhino going on a rampage and spidey jumps onto an nypd squad car with a bullhorn and taunts the rhino by calling him a mechanized hippopotamus.

“In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker, life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen, high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.”

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Chris Cooper, Felicity Jones and Sally Field.

The film is set to swing into theaters May 2nd, 2014.
