First Picture of David Morrisey as The Governor in The Walking Dead released

June 11th, 2012 by Marc Comments

Well, it’s been  four months since we first reported the casting of David Morrisey  as the Governor in The Walking Dead TV series but finally we get a peek

Yes, here is our first glimpse (above) of Morrisey as the nastiest character in any medium ever created. And, to be honest, he looks very diffent that his comic-book counter part (below).
We’re getting used to the idea of Morrisey in the role, but still think he character is a big gamble for the series. If they tone him down the comic book fans will be upset, if they do him justice, the rest of the world will be… it’s a gamble, but we’re excited to see how he turns out.
Interesting tidbit: Actor and SFX legend Tom Savini apparently campaigned for the role and while we could see him physically in the role, we just don’t think he has the acting chops – sorry Tom, we love your brother, but FTN tells the truth.

The Walking Dead Season 3 kicks of this Halloween.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
