It’s been a bit of a hectic week for Following the Nerd as we get to grips with our website and discuss plans for the forthcoming Heroes and Legends event at W5 in Belfast next month.
While we can’t say much at the minute with regard to this particular show, we can confirm that we will be there and have a part to play in the proceedings. With the likes of Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens and The Abyss) and Colin Baker (Dr Who) attending we couldn’t be more excited as fans, but the fact that we will be directly involved in the three day event from February 17-19 makes it even more exciting.
As for our website, we are still fine tuning things and expect this to continue for the next few weeks as we bed down with actual content. However, don’t forget that we are open to suggestions so please get in touch if you think you can help (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Personally, I’ve been continuing with my religious devotion to Smallville on SyFy in the UK. What a show. I also watched the Batman: Year One animated movie last weekend and was really impressed with how the makers were able to stick to the look of the novel as well as the storyline. I’m also currently reading the graphic novel version of Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy. The oiginal books are probably the best of George Lucas’ epic space opera in print but to see the artwork in this version really brings home what a great job Timothy Zhan did with his creation. Highly recommended.
Last week’s radio show (which is available on Spreaker and iTunes) also upped my excitement for the release of Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace next month in 3D. Yes, I know most fans over 30 hate the prequels but I’m really looking forward to it. To see the podrace in 3D will be amazing. Let’s hope uncle George sells enough tickets, thus convincing him to convert the remaining five. Now that would be something!
Anyway, that’s it for now. I’ll speak to you all next week.
