July 16th, 2013 by Marc 1 Comment

Dan Brown’s latest book, Inferno, is to be made into a film with Tom Hanks and Ron Howard returning as lead star and director respectively.

According to Deadline, the novel will follow the adventures of Robert Langdon (played by Tom Hanks in The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons), with a planned release date of December 18, 2015, with David Koepp adapting the screenplay.

The book itself marks the fourth novel to follow Langdon. The third book, The Lost Symbol, is still eyed for a big screen version, but is expected at a later date.

A synopsis for the book reads:

“In the heart of Italy, Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon is drawn into a harrowing world centered on one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces… Dante’s Inferno.

“Against this backdrop, Langdon battles a chilling adversary and grapples with an ingenious riddle that pulls him into a landscape of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science. Drawing from Dante’s dark epic poem, Langdon races to find answers and decide whom to trust… before the world is irrevocably altered.”

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife.
