Jon M. Chu, director of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, is in talks to helm a Masters of the Universe movie, according to Deadline.

Sony and Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch have been developing the property, based on the popular Mattel toy line that originated in 1982 and spawned several animated series along with a 1987 live-action film starring Dolph Lundgren.

No word on who is likely to star in the film but one hopes that it stays faithful to the original cartoon which still holds up well after 30 years.

Hi all. I'm Bash, I'm 33, and I became a nerd when I first saw Star Wars as a child. Although I've watched hundreds of movies, read dozens of books and played numerous computer games since, nothing has come close to seeing George Lucas' epic for the very first time. At Following the Nerd, I'm Marc's right hand man and can be heard every Thursday trying to be funny on our radio show. I hope you all like the site and come back often.
