Joss Whedon has said he’d love to make another Firefly series if those with the say-so give him a call.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly editor Adam B. Vary this week, the Avengers Assemble director said he would never rule a return to series that most fans agree was axed way too early.
“I keep thinking they’re going to call me, crunch the numbers and say ‘Hey, we can make money from this!’ – but they don’t. I would never rule it out, I love those people. But I can’t just wait by the phone,” he said.
Talkin about Buffy the Vampire Slayer in comic form, he said the opportunity to write for Dark Horse Comics’ take on the universe was like a ‘little vacation’.
“It was so much fun. It felt like a universe that had validity and when I’m able to be in it, I’m really grateful. People wanted it and I felt like there were more stories to tell. For me, it’s like a little vacation — every now and then, I get to visit the ‘verse again,” he added.
Thanks to Indiewire for the heads up.
