Well, since Bourne Legacy wasn’t a total disaster – yes, we know wasn’t great – we thought there might be truth to the rumours that Matt Damon wanted to return…
However, TV and Movie News are reporting that it’s unlikely to happen and the word comes from Jason Bourne, Matt Damon, himself. Damon hasn’t seen Jeremy Renner’s Bourne Legacy yet and it seems that it’s for the same reasons he won’t be back to make another one: “…from what I understand, it kind of relives ["The Bourne Ultimatum"] from a different perspective. What that means, because they use our actors and characters, is that whatever they said [in 'Legacy'] is true and so we’d have to acknowledge it in any Bourne movie that we’d do. And that makes it really tough. I don’t think we can do the ‘Dallas’ it-was-all-a-dream scenario. I don’t think the audience would go for that after they paid money to see a movie”.
We all know producer of the Bourne movies Frank Marshall had said he was optimistic that Damon and Renner would share an adventure, but it now seems unlikely, this goes along with the fact that Damon said after he completed The Bourne Ultimatum that unless Paul Greengrass returned he wouldn’t do another one.
