It’s that time of the year again when Ireland, north and south, goes Star Wars crazy.
Yep, we’re talking an Invasion and next month it’s the turn of Dublin to be taken over by an Imperial and Rebel fleet.
The Emerald Garrison will be hosting their ever popular convention at the Citywest Hotel from May 4 to 7 for what plans to be the biggest Star Wars event yet on the Emerald Isle.
As ever there will be exhibitors, life sized sets and props, a cosplay competition, and a number of actors from the films themselves over the course of the weekend.
In previous years actors such as Kenny Baker (R2D2), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett) and Julian Glover (General Veers) have been present in Dublin however this year will see the biggest ever arrival from a galaxy far, far away.
We’re talking Lando Calrissian himself, Mr Billy Dee Williams. Yes, you read that right. The original owner of the Millennium Falcon will be flying in from the United States to meet, greet and sign photos and autographs for thousands of fans.On top of that, James Arnold Taylor, the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Clone Wars, will be jetting in and as a special treat he’ll be performing his one man stand-up show ‘Talking to Myself’, which has been getting rave reviews in his homeland – just check out the awesome trailer below!.
Mike Edwards, who played the ewok Logray in Return of the Jedi, will also be joined by fans favourite Jeremy Bulloch and Will Sliney, who has worked on Star Wars as an illustrator on both The Phantom Menace 3D and The Clone Wars.
