Certain questions must be answered at Christmas. Do reindeer really know how to fly? Do i NEED another pair of socks? What would happen if Iron Man, Batman and Santa ever squared off against each other? Well, wonder no more…

Our friends at All Fancy Dress are also trying to find out: “As a bit of festive fun we thought we’d take a look at the specifications of the suit and equipment used by Santa Claus and compare them directly against those possessed by Iron Man and Batman.

“The data used for Santa is based on modern established traditions such as the general understanding he lives in Lapland, rides a sleigh pulled by reindeer and wears a red and white outfit with black boots. Using these details we researched what Santa would actually need to achieve physically [in terms of speed and logistics] to be able to deliver presents to millions of households in one single night. As you can imagine, Santa’s task is by no means a stroll in the park.

“With this data we were able to produce a minimum specification of what his suit and equipment would need to be capable of in order to complete the world’s single largest postal route. The comparative specifications for Iron Man and Batman are based off of the Mark VII [as seen at the end of The Avengers] and Dark Knight Rises suits, respectively.”

In the red corner…!

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
