Kelsey Grammer hopes to appear in another X-Men film

If you haven’t seen X-Men: Days of Future Past, I will be spoiling a minor cameo.

When the casting news for X-Men: Days of Future Past started to come in, it quickly became evident what director Bryan Singer’s plan was. It was to be the biggest movie in the franchise, that would involve nearly every actor who had ever appeared in one of the main X-Men films and then some.

We’ve heard about cameo rumors and towards the end of the film, we finally saw them. Once such actor was Kelsey Grammer, who played Beast in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand.

Collider caught up with the actor at the Transformers: Age of Extinction set and asked how the cameo came about:

“Actually I called Bryan.  I bumped into Hugh Jackman and he said, ‘Oh you’re gonna be in another X-Men, mate!’ and I said, ‘No I’m not, I don’t know anything about it.’  So I made a couple of inquiries, got a hold of the script, found out that it’s primarily dealing with the past and that timeline I don’t have a place in, but I saw that at the end there was this coda where he made an appearance.  I said, ‘Listen, I really wanna be involved,’ so Bryan arranged for it and I had a lovely time.”

The actor added that he hopes it wasn’t for the last time:

“I hope to do another.  I hope they find some way to come up with a new story that involves Beast in my timeline.”
