Maggie Grace has spoken to MTV about the forthcoming sequel to Taken co-starring Liam Neeson.
The actress, whose character Kim was abducted in the first movie, said she would be getting a little more involved in the action this time around.
“Yeah, the character is a bit more empowered in this one,” she said. “You know, she doesn’t morph into La Femme Nikita. It’s still grounded in the reality of that world. But yeah, she is her father’s daughter, and she definitely steps up.”
Taken 2 centers on Bryan Mills (Neeson) and his ex-wife Lenore (Famke Jansson) getting kidnapped by a grieving and vengeful father (played by Serbedzija), with their daughter Kim left to find them.
“My character’s parents are taken this time, so it’s an inversion of the first one,” she continued. “I think it’s a nice, very compelling choice that [the movie's story] is driven by a personal vendetta.
“It’s not random. I think everyone’s first reaction was, ‘How do you make another Taken movie?’ There’s a pretty compelling vendetta that drives it, so it’s great.”
