Michael Keaton set to hassle Robocop?

August 30th, 2012 by Owen Quinn Comments

Michael Keaton has long been an FTN favourite – and not just because of Burton’s Batman. He’s a legend who does far too little these days, but… he’s back

With the loss of Hugh Laurie as the big bad in the Robocop reboot, it has been confirmed that Batman star Michael Keaton has been cast as the head of OCP as originally played by Dan O’Herlihy,  although it sounds like his character will be more like the evil second in command, Dick Jones, played by the wonderful Ronnie Cox in Paul Verhoeven’s fantastic 1987 original.

And given his fate I’d be worried this time round if I was Keaton. Will he end up being blasted through a plate glass window a hundred stories up? We’ll just have to wait and see.

The Robocop movie is in some difficulty with even the director speaking out about studio interference, but with Keaton in the role of one of the villains this seems, to us anyway, as a positive step.

He has an unhealthy interest in Doctor Who, classic TV and Star Wars, he also hangs around with the Emerald Garrison far toooo much. Is it any wonder he fits in at FTN so well? Find Owen at the
