Metal Gear Solid is one of the most successful game franchises of all time and it looks like the story is still far from over…

Konami and Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojimahav confirmed there will be another chapter in the Metal Gear saga, this one called Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.

A recent Tokyo convention celebrating the 25th anniversary of the games was the scene from which the announcement came. But what do we know? Well, it will run on the new Fox engine being built by Kojima Productions, it will be an open-world title, and is targeted at current generation specifications.

According to ukgamestop, ‘Kojima Productions also announced a new smartphone game in the works called Metal Gear: Social Ops. The game is a card-based action title that recaps the events from previous Metal Gear games. The title is also running on the Unity engine. Metal Gear: Social Ops will be out worldwide later this year and will also be playable at this year’s Tokyo Games Show.’

So it seems there is much more gear in the works…
