New origin story for TMNT movie

March 19th, 2012 by bash 3 Comments

Michael Bay has said that the forthcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie will feature a new origin story for our favourite pizza loving dudes.

Speaking at last week’s Nickelodeon Upfront in New York, Bay, who will produce the movie, hinted that the turtles may not be human.

“When you see this movie, kids are going to believe, one day, that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie,” he said. “These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable.”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will feature a script from Josh Appelbaum, Andrew Nemec, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and John Fusco, be directed by Jonathan Liebesman and is set for a Christmas Day 2013 release.

Hi all. I'm Bash and love anything and everything to do with Star Wars. Although I've watched hundreds of movies, read dozens of books and played numerous computer games from other genres and franchises since, nothing has come close to seeing George Lucas' epic for the very first time. I hope you all like the site and come back often.

I am not a fan of the Turtles, but I grew up with them, and all I can say is “Bay, thanks for ruining another part of my childhood. This is already next to Transformers and the rest of the remakes you produced.”

ALIEN RACE? …Are you KIDDING me?!

Michael Bay is changing the TMNT origins of bring ‘Earthly creatures’ to other worldly creatures… Aliens to be exact. What the hell is Michael Bay smoking? Or is he on a mission to totally destroy childhood memories? From TMNT to TANT? So it’s Alien turtles from space that know ninja style martial arts? Michael Bay has officially “lost it!”
