Richard Wenk has signed on to re-write the screenplay for a new He-Man movie.
According to Variety, he will join Sony and Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch who have been developing the property. Jon M. Chu is being targeted to direct the film.
Wenk is best known for his work on 16 Blocks, The Mechanic, and co-writing The Expendables 2 with Sylvester Stallone.
The movie will be based on the popular Mattel toy line that originated in 1982 and spawned several animated series along with the disappointing 1987 live-action film which starred Dolph Lundgren.
