Ever since Star Wars in 1977 when Luke stared into the binary sunset (below) many of our imaginations have stirred with thoughts of such things existing… well guess what?

The discovery of an alien world that has two suns like Tatoine in the Star Wars has been hailed as a significant discovery.

It shows that binary systems are more common than at first realised. Kelper 47 is a gas giant which they say cannot support life but as all good writers and nerds know, aliens can take any form. How do we know there are gaseous aliens right in front of us? But there are smaller planets in the surrounding areas which may have more traditional forms of life.
