January 20th, 2012 by Marc Comments

Capcom have confirmed that Resident Evil 6 is coming to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The new game will see the return of both Chris Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy.

A recent viral marketing campaign with an apocalyptic theme had hinted at the return of the franchise in recent days.

The story synopsis reads: “It has been ten years since the incident at Raccoon City and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place. Raccoon City survivor and personal friend of the President, Leon S. Kennedy, arrives to find the President transformed beyond recognition by a bioterrorist attack. Leon is forced to make the hardest decision he has ever made. At the same, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance Member, Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack.”

Like Resident Evil 5, the latest addition to the series will feature co-op gameplay. However, it is rumored that Capcom is trying to do a better job at balancing the action and horror this time around.

The game is set to hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 20with a PC release coming at a later date.
