The official site for Celebration Europe II has confirmed that fans attending the covention this summer will get to watch Return of the Jedi on the big screen… outdoors!
A statement from the site said: “In recent years, few have had the good fortune to see Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi theatrically. Even fewer, however, have seen it on the big screen, outdoors, and under the stars. Star Wars Celebration Europe attendees will get that chance this July!
“In a special Celebration Europe event, fans can attend a free outdoor screening of Return of the Jedi in honor of the classic film’s 30th anniversary. The showing will be held on Friday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Grugapark, right next to the Messe Essen. Food and beverages will be available to purchase in the park, and attendees are welcome to picnic while they enjoy the movie. Return of the Jedi was originally released in 1983, and was last re-released to theaters in 1997. Since that time, very few public screenings have taken place.
