Word on the Chitauri-torn street is that Iron Man 3 started principal photography yesterday in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The film looks to have been given a budget boost after worries of Marvel Studios’ return to a stand-alone hero film falling short of the mark after the big-budget ‘Avengers: Assemble’ ($220 million). Rumour has it, the budget of $140 million has now been bumped to the $200 million mark.
The film’s not-so-secret codename is ‘Caged Heat’, which isn’t much of an improvement on ‘Group Hug’; apparently assigned to Avengers/Avengers: Assemble during filming.
Robert Downey Jr has already been spied on set, and we can’t help but wonder when he will be joined by the inimitable Ben Kingsley, who is cast in the villain role of Mandarin.
