Robert Zemeckis has confirmed that a script for a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? exists and is pretty much ready to go.
The director, in an interview via Total Film, said: “I’m happy with the script, it’s very good!”
He also confirmed that if the movie is eventually made it would be created visually like the original.
“If I were to do the sequel, it would be done just like the first one,” he said.
“It would look the same way, but we would present it in 3D in its release. I would do all of the animation hand-drawn; 2D, but using 3D tools. It wouldn’t be like Pixar 3D. It wouldn’t look like that… this would again be another period movie.”
Zemeckis also confirmed that he would be open to converting the original film for a 3D re-release.
