RUMOR: Two more actors possibly up for Star Wars: Episode VII?

August 28th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher 5 Comments

It seems the Latino Review crew are at it again, trying to find out about the secretive casting process for Star Wars: Episode VII. They have come up with two names: Magic Mike’s Alex Pettyfer and Peter Pan’s Rachel Hurd-Wood.

The pair are only the latest of those who have either already auditioned, or will soon audition for roles in the film. They do not have any roles, yet.

Alex Pettyfer is easily the more recognizable of the pair, having starred in I Am Number Four, In Time, Beastly, Magic Mike, and Lee Daniels’ The Butler (the top movie in the U.S. right now). He would probably be what many people consider a Star Wars actor as he is not a huge name. Latino Review are not sure about the role but hypothesize he would be the son of Luke Skywalker, especially since they say Ryan Gosling has turned it down.

Rachel Hurd-Wood is a less well-known actress, which in the case of Star Wars is not a bad thing. The English actress debuted as Wendy in the 2003 live action Peter Pan and has also appeared in Perfume: The Story of a Murderer and Solomon Kane. Latino Review reports she’s up for the daughter of Princess Leia and Han Solo, what many say will be a main character of the trilogy. They say they have confirmed that she did in fact audition.

Filming is rumored to start in January, which means casting announcements must come soon right? What do you think about the possibility of these two actors appearing in the film?

Star Wars: Episode: VII, scheduled for a 2015 release will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Michael Arndt.
