Set phasers to WHO! Star Trek and Doctor Who crossover coming from IDW

February 10th, 2012 by Marc 1 Comment

Bleeding Cool has announced some news that everyone thought was, well, impossible. This May IDW will be publishing a Who/Star Trek: The Next Generation crossover series (tell the truth, that pic above gets the mind going, doesn’t it?).

The series will feature The Doctor, Amy, Rory, Captain Picard, Worf, Data, Geordie LaForge, Deanna Troy, Will Riker and the rest of the Enterprise crew. The villains remain unknown at this point although to us the Borg and Cyber-men feel like a natural match.

Doctor Who, according to Bleeding Cool, has never been involved in a crossever that was not part of the Who-niverse before. But we’re giddy just thinking of all the possibliltes now… the Doctor truly unleashed!

The Trek crew have a history of crossovers, including X-Men and the Legion Of Superheroes and the recent Infestation story which saw them share space with Ghostbusters, GI Joe and Transformers.

IDW is attending the Gallifrey One convention next week, so expect an official annoucement then…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
