Seth McFarlane commits to live-action comedy show

September 27th, 2012 by Marc Comments

Ted and Family Guy fans rejoice! Seth McFarlane has commited to a live-action one-camera comedy show at FOX.

With the news last week that Ted will (probably) get a sequel, it looks like writer/director Seth McFarlane – who also is behind Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show – has commited to a pilot for a live-action comedy show on FOX.

Curiously, there is a ‘penalty commitment’ attached to the deal, which basically means that should the show not happen, FOX will have to pay a large fine. That said, we reckon there’s little chance of this not happening.

The show will be written and executively produced by Ted co-writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, McFarlane will also executive produce.

The plot? Well, it’s all fairly hush, hush right now, but the word on the grapevine is it will follow two 30-something business men whose lives fall apart when their dads move in with them…

Seth McFarlane does Two And A Half Men-esque humour? hmmmmmmmmm…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
