The CW has ordered three new television series pilots, including a prequel to Sex and the City.
Deadline is reporting that Arrow, Beauty and the Beast and The Carrie Diaries have all been commissioned for production by the teen-centric network.
Originally reported last week, Arrow will be an adaptation of the DC Comics’ character the Green Arrow written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg.
Beauty and the Beast will be loosely based on the TV series that ran for three seasons beginning in 1987 starring Ron Perlman as Vincent, a beast-man who lived beneath the streets of New York City, and Linda Hamilton as Catherine, a District Attorney in the city.
Finally, The Carrie Diaries, based on the Candace Bushnell book series that serve as a prequel to Sex and the City, will feature the life of young Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker’s character) as she comes of age in 1980’s Manhattan.
