Smiley’s People in development

December 12th, 2012 by bash Comments

Work has begun on a sequel to John le Carre’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Producer Eric Fellner confirmed news of Smiley’s People during a press day for Working Title’s upcoming musical adaptation Les Miserables.

He said: “We are working on another one. [Producer] Tim Bevan is putting it together as we speak with [screenwriter] Peter Straughan and Tomas Alfredson, so yes it’s in development.”

Gary Oldman, who played the lead role of George Smiley, revealed a while back that the filmmakers were thinking about developing the novel but this is the first we’ve heard of anything since then.

Last year’s release grossed over $80 million against a relatively small budge.

Hi all. I'm Bash and love anything and everything to do with Star Wars. Although I've watched hundreds of movies, read dozens of books and played numerous computer games from other genres and franchises since, nothing has come close to seeing George Lucas' epic for the very first time. I hope you all like the site and come back often.
