20th Century Fox are at loggerheads with the screenwriter of Chronicle 2, according to legendary director John Landis.
Max Landis, the screenwriter behind the original film, was signed on earlier this year to provide a screenplay for a second film.
However, according to Landis’ father the studio isn’t entirely satisfied with what his son has come up with so far.
“He wrote a sequel and it’s amazing,” the elder Landis told The Playlist,”and the studio read it and said, ‘We want ‘Chronicle’ again!’ And he said, ‘No, this is the sequel, it’s the evolution, and they said ‘No, we want that movie again!’ So it’s difficult, we’re dealing with a difficult business.’”
Josh Trank, the director of the first Chronicle, will not be involved in the new film as he is attached to helm Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot.
