We all know Thanos is set to be the major villain in the Avengers 2. His reveal in the mid-credit scene in the Avengers was a great tease. I almost fell out of my seat when he appeared. Though thinking back that could also have something to do with being stuck in an uncomfortable theater seat for three hours.
Well Cosmic Book News is reporting that the Titan is also set to make an appearance in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie as well. This was confirmed by Jim Starlin, creator of Thanos, who has been in talks with Marvel about bringing Thanos to the GotG movie as well.
With rumors that Adam Warlock as his evil alter ego Magus being written in the GotG movie, bringing in Thanos would only make sense. Warlock’s powers were derived from one of the Infinity Gems, the source of power for the Infinity Gauntlet, which is a major obsession of Thanos.
This could also serve to crossover the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy since a Thanos in possession of a fully powered Infinity Gauntlet would be too much for the Avengers to handle alone. If you’ll remember too the GotG were also recently introduced in the Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes cartoon. It looks like Marvel and Disney have huge plans for their movie universe and that can only mean great things for the fans.
