It seems the appeal of the latest Bond movie has reached the most unexpected of places.
In its latest publication, the Vatican gave as much space to reviewing Skyfall as it did the 500th anniversary of the Sistine chapel (been there, fab). It praised Daniel Craig’s portrayal of the man himself by saying he is less of a cliché this time, more human and less attracted by the pleasures of life. Now you can’t get much better than that.
Elsewhere, it seems the revival of 007 happened because of a chance meeting between Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes at Hugh Jackman’s birthday party. The Skyfall project had in fact died because of the much publicised bankruptcy of MGM. Astounding given the new movie has pulled in an amazing £287 million so far.
