Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice…..a third Hobbit movie could be heading our way.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Peter Jackson is talks with Warner Bros. about turning the Hobbit into a trilogy after teasing fans at Comic-Con that he wanted to shoot more footage.
Those talks are said to have accelerated in recent days, with the studio on board if the right financial arrangements can be achieved including securing new actor deals for the cast as well as sorting out certain rights associated with the property.
“If we’re going to do it, we have to make a decision soon,” a source close to the production told the Reporter. “It’s strongly driven by the filmmakers’ desire to tell more of the story.”
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, is set for release on December 14. The second film, called There and Back Again, will hit cinema screens on December 13, 2013.
