Turtles fans told to ‘chill’

March 20th, 2012 by bash Comments

Michael Bay has called on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fans to “chill” after they reacted with anger at plans to introduce a new ‘alien’ origin story for a forthcoming feature film.

The Transformers director, who is producing the new movie, revealed earlier this week that the turtles in his new movie were “from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable”.

However, a backlash from fans in recent days has seen Bay respond to the feedback on his official website. He said: “Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will feature a script from Josh Appelbaum, Andrew Nemec, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and John Fusco, be directed by Jonathan Liebesman and is set for a Christmas Day 2013 release.

Hi all. I'm Bash and love anything and everything to do with Star Wars. Although I've watched hundreds of movies, read dozens of books and played numerous computer games from other genres and franchises since, nothing has come close to seeing George Lucas' epic for the very first time. I hope you all like the site and come back often.
